'This One Goes up to Eleven' The final countdown!
The members of the band have taken the very difficult decision that the band will draw to a close within the next year.
You probably know that Daniel (guitar and vocals) and Aaron (bass) are father and son. Daniel lives in Nottingham, and the truth is, when he brings his family up to the north east for the weekend and we do a couple of gigs, we don’t get to spend much family time together, as the gigs dominate the whole weekend.
Which means Aaron isn’t getting to spend enough time with his delightful grandson, Levi! And family comes first… so we will concentrate on that instead.
We wont be ending until February 2015, but only have a few more gigs in these next few months. They are:
Fri Aug 22nd - The Star, Newcastle. NE1 1SG
Fri Aug 29th - The Greyhound, Beeston NG9 2LE
Fri Sept 12th - Black Horse, Consett DH8 5AL
Sat Dec 6th - Hartlepool Football Supporters Club, supporting the mighty Russ Tippins Electric Band
Sat Feb 21st Ronnington! (Final gig)
We would like to give our sincere thanks to the (ahem) 11 drummers who have driven us with such passion and skill over these past 7 years. Yes, we really did go up to eleven! So hats off to David Carnegie, Malcolm Dick, Ian Halford, John Hirst, David Pipkin, Guy Swinton, George Stutton, Graeme Wall, George Waters, Mark Wilson, and Marc Williamson!
Thanks to our very understanding, supportive and patient wives.
And thanks to you guys for all your support and encouragement. It’s a rubbish gig without an audience, and you have made some superb memories for us. We’ve strutted our funky stuff over 200 times!
Hope to see you at one of the remaining nights for an absolute ball!
Many, many thanks for all your help with this mate. It would be fab to see you at one of the last gigs, though I know it is an awfully long way from home!
